Dr.Michaela is an Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Physician who graduated with her master's and doctorate degrees from the Pacific College of Health and Science. She completed clinical rotations at UCSD Hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital, and Jesse Brown VA Hospital.
Dr.Michaela was introduced to eastern medicine when diagnosed with an antibiotic resistant infection. While western medicine couldn’t heal her alone, the integrative approach of eastern and western medicine did. Subsequently, she utilized eastern medicine to manage her IBS symptoms and process grief. Through these life altering experiences, she was called to help others heal through scientific based integrative medicine.
Dr.Michaela is trained to use a gentle form of acupuncture called Japanese Meridian Therapy and traditional Chinese style acupuncture. She can treat a variety of conditions such as orthopedic pain, gastroenterology symptoms, womens health conditions, neuropathy, polyuria, headaches, insomnia, stress, mental and emotional symptoms. This is not an exhaustive list; feel free to book a complementary consultation for any questions.
She may incorporate non-needle techniques such as cupping therapy, gua sha, tuina massage, moxibustion heat therapy, and auricular acupressure seeds. She also completed training in cosmetic acupuncture, Mental and Emotional Release® Therapy, and a yin-style pranayama breathwork. She is thrilled to use her western and eastern medical training, along with her empathy, to help others on their physical, mental, and emotional healing journeys.
